Abstract
Objective To explore the role of endothelin (ET-1), hyaluronidase (HA), type III procollagen (PCIII?), and type IV collagen (IVC) in the formation of liver fibrosis in vivo and their relationship with the degree of liver function damage in patients with cirrhosis. relationship with liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension. Methods Radioimmunoassay was used to determine serum ET-1, HA, PCIII and IVC levels in 52 patients with liver cirrhosis and 28 controls with chronic hepatitis. Results The serum concentration of ET-1 in the experimental group was significantly increased, and the difference was statistically significant compared with the control group (?P?<0?01). Serum ET-1, HA, PCIII, and IVC levels in patients with liver cirrhosis increased with increasing Child-Pugh grade and degree of fibrosis; serum ET-1, HA, PCIII, and IVC levels in patients with cirrhosis and esophageal varices were significantly higher than those without varicose veins. Those with varicose veins (?P?<0?01). Conclusion ET-1, HA, PCIII? , IVC may play an important role in the formation of liver fibrosis and portal hypertension in cirrhosis, and is related to the degree of liver function damage in patients with cirrhosis.
