Abstract
Abstract Purpose: To detect whether tricalcium phosphate (TCP)/chitosan scaffold is suitable for culturing periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSC) in animal experiments. Methods: Three kinds of TCP/chitosan scaffolds with different proportions were made, PDLSC and TCP/chitosan scaffolds were added and cultured for 24 hours, then implanted subcutaneously on the back of nude mice. After 4 weeks, the grafts were cut, HE stained and type ¢ñ collagen (Col -¢ñ) Immunohistochemical staining and microscopic examination. Results: PDLSC grew well on TCP/chitosan scaffolds. The degradation rate of TCP/chitosan scaffolds was lower than that of simple chitosan scaffolds. Col-¢ñ was generated in all three groups of scaffolds. Conclusion: TCP/chitosan scaffold is suitable for culturing PDLSCs
