Abstract
Objective To study the reactive effects of procumbent on vascular hypertrophy, intracellular calcium, collagen, NO and vasoconstriction in spontaneously hypertensive rats shr and renal hypertensive rats rhr. Methods: Use a micrometer to measure the thickness of the tunica media and cell size of blood vessels. Fura-2/am is used as a fluorescent indicator to measure [ca2+]i in single cells to determine the hydroxyproline content to reflect the collagen content.
