Abstract
Objective In order to make better use of pig Achilles tendon resources, increase its added value and broaden the application of collagen in packaging, the preparation of pig Achilles tendon collagen sponge and the adsorption effect of the sponge on ethanol were discussed. Methods A single-factor experiment was used to investigate the effects of pig Achilles tendon collagen concentration, glycerol content, and casting thickness on mechanical properties, and to examine the effects of sponge porosity and time on ethanol adsorption performance. Results When the mass fraction of collagen was 1%, the mass fraction of glycerin was 0.6%, and the casting thickness was 5 mm, the tensile strength of the prepared sponge was 210.91 kPa, and the elongation at break was 6.98%. The sponge prepared under these process conditions The porosity is 91.19%, and the ethanol adsorption capacity in 30 days is 416.32 mg/g. The adsorption capacity is positively related to the porosity of the sponge. Conclusion The sponge prepared from porcine Achilles tendon collagen under this process has higher tensile strength than other animal collagen sponges and has adsorption effect on ethanol.
