Abstract
Collagen is the most abundant protein in animals. Its unique triple helix structure and amino acid sequence make collagen and its hydrolysates have many advantages such as biocompatibility and biofunctionality, and can be widely used in biomedicine, tissue engineering, food health care and other fields. This article combines the latest research results at home and abroad to review the biological functionality of collagen hydrolyzate, including antibacterial properties, antioxidant properties, and blood pressure lowering. It is pointed out that the development of collagen-related industries in my country should not only produce traditional tissue engineering and medical materials, but also expand its application scope and develop various biologically functional foods and health products based on its characteristics.
