Abstract
The acid-soluble type I collagen extracted from the lungs of normal rats showed an obvious ESR signal (g=2.006), while the acid-soluble type I collagen extracted from silicosis rats had less or lacked the ESR signal. The signal was not paramagnetic. Transition elements are produced, but are a reflection of stable free radicals. There may be two stable free radicals in lung collagen, one is easily excited by ultraviolet radiation and weakened by spin coupling under electric field polarization, and the other free radical is Relatively stable and insensitive to ultraviolet radiation and electric field polarization. Silicosis collagen lacks stable free radicals with high activity.
