Abstract
Skin flakes contained in cashmere will seriously affect the quality of textiles. Collagen and keratin were extracted from goat cashmere skin using pepsin and reduction methods and characterized. The results show that the composition and mass fraction of washed velvet skin shavings are 9.14% moisture, 8.72% fat, 11.36% water-soluble matter, 60.13% crude protein, and 10.65% ash. Among the crude proteins, collagen and keratin account for the protein mass respectively. 30.98% and 15.67% of the fraction are the main components of protein, and the assignment of other proteins needs further study. The relative molecular weight of collagen in skin flakes is concentrated at 49ku, and the molecular weight of keratin is in the range of 26-35ku and 49ku. The distribution of each component in the skin flakes structure is different. Fat and collagen are unevenly distributed, while keratin is relatively evenly distributed. Water-soluble substances play a major role in the bonding of skin flakes. The research results provide a theoretical reference for solving the problems of cashmere dyed skin.
